Types of Louver Dampers
Parallel Louvers Dampers
Opposed Louvers Dampers
Double Louver Dampers
Tandem Louvers Dampers
Tandem dampers are designed to perform as a Double Louver Damper except instead of having “seal air” between two sets of louver blades, the “seal air” is between the two skins of the wider tandem blades. The advantage is a more compact design as well as fewer blades, bearings, shafts, etc.
Typical Applications
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD)
Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Systems
Fan Pre-Spin Inlet Boxes
SCR & Emissions Control Systems
Turbine Exhaust Ducts & HRSG Systems
Chemical & Process Plant Ducting
Proven Performance & ROI
Zero-Leak = Zero Fines
100% shutoff ensures clean emissions and avoids EPA penalties
Fewer Failures, Less Downtime
Compared to competitors who require replacements every 6 months, Fox dampers operate trouble-free for decades
Long-Term ROI
Reduced replacement frequency, fewer spare parts, and less downtime save thousands per unit

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What’s the difference between parallel and opposed louver dampers?
Parallel louvers are mainly for isolation; opposed louvers are for modulating airflow.
What is a double louver damper?
It’s a damper with two blade sets and a pressurized middle zone (“seal air”) to block any leakage, ideal for scrubber systems.
How long do Fox louver dampers last?
What industries use louver dampers?
Power generation, chemical processing, emissions control, and any facility managing flue or exhaust gases.
